E-CORE/CIEL Communities of Practice (CoPs)

Fall Update: The Communities of Practice will be continuing for the Fall 2021 semester. Please keep an eye on your emails in September for details. Meetings will start towards the end of September.

The E-CORE/CIEL Communities of Practice (CoPs) started in June 2020 as part of the project’s work to generate and coordinate supports as engineering educators shifted online. The aim of the CoPs is to provide an accessible space for instructors, staff, teaching assistants, and other engineering educators across Canada to connect and share ideas, discuss challenges, and celebrate successes.

In May 2021, several of the E-CORE/CIEL CoPs were amalgamated into one large E-CORE/CIEL Engineering Educators Community of Practice. This, as well as our First-Year Instructor CoP, are opportunities for large group discussions, breakout rooms for smaller discussions, and resource sharing between members. The CoPs are a space to receive just-in-time support for emerging issues, discuss ideas and challenges with national colleagues, and share resources – they may even potentially spark working groups for resources that don’t yet exist!

The table below will be updated with planned CoP meetings as they are scheduled. To sign up for our Communities of Practice and receive the meeting invites, join our mailing list:
