Overview
In workplaces and classrooms alike, mindfulness practices have been shown to support well-being and resiliency, to facilitate clearer thinking, to help people navigate stress and anxiety, and to improve working relationships. There is now growing research on how mindfulness can help people manage the unexpected and support problem-solving abilities, particularly in technical contexts.
Join seasoned mindfulness instructor Andrew Safer and facilitator Dr. Janna Rosales (Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University) who will guide you through a basic mindfulness practice, with discussion and reflection on the ways that building a regular practice of mindfulness can support the professional growth and development of engineering students and faculty alike. The webinar will also present preliminary results from a pilot project run in collaboration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) and the Canadian Engineering Education Challenge.
